Robin Blackstone, M.D., FACS, is a Bariatric surgeon and director of the Scottsdale Bariatric Center. She is certified by the Arizona Medical Board, and is the medical director of the Scottsdale Healthcare Bariatric Program. Dr. Blackstone earned her medical degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1988, and then completed her residency at the University of Colorado at Denver in 1993.

Dr. Blackstone is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Board of Surgery, and the American Medical Association. In 2004, Dr. Blackstone was named to the American College of Surgeons National Faculty in Bariatric Surgery and now serves on the Surgical Review Corporation Review Committee for National Centers of Excellence and as a founding Board Member of the Obesity Action Coalition. She is also a chair on the Scottsdale Healthcare – Shea Campus Cancer Committee, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Blackstone has been an outspoken advocate of outcome based medical practice. The Scottsdale Bariatric Center was recently named as an American Society of Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
