Stephen E. Burpee, M.D., F.R.C.S.C., is a bariatric surgeon at the Southern Arizona Weight Loss Center. Dr. Burpee earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He received additional training in laparoscopic bariatric surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Penn. Dr. Burpee spent time as a research fellow in the department of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is a member of many organizations in the medical community including the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
